Winged Heart

02/12/10 - Winged Heart - This simple winged heart shape can have a lot of very different and varied significances to each individual. The red heart can stand for love or truth, and the sweet angelic wings might represent hope. Together these two seem to characterize a loving or truthful hope.

The angel type of wings seem to be cuddling and holding up the heart, as though holding it secure while lightly elevating it up. Each individual has their own interpretation of this design.

Change the wings and you seem to change the meaning of the pattern. Find other types of wings in coloring books or on the internet. The look can be altered completely by just changing the type of wings used in the pattern.

Cupid

02/11/10 - Cupid - Cupid, known as Cupido in Latin, which means desire. This easily recognized image makes a great pattern for Valentine’s Day. With his angelical wings on his bare torso, he stands tall with his bow drawn. It of course has a heart shaped dart posed and ready to release. He's ready release this pointy dart into the heart of an unaware male or female to prompt some amatory love.

This silhouette form is engraved into a purple dichroic glass to keep the design in place after firing. The dichroic is back with black glass and it's been capped with a piece of clear glass. This capping give the piece more depth and dimension.

Linked Hearts

02/09/10 - Linked Hearts - Similar to a short string of a baby's toy, these three linked hearts are united together in a string. There's just something very fun and playful about hearts that are all linked up to one another.

Separately these red hearts are not solid, but are hollow in the middle. This makes the center open and empty. When they are then posed on the kiln shelf, they are overlapped so that they then look like they are interlaced. When you are trimming the heart, the center of the piece is then cut as close as achievable to the outside of the piece. This gives the piece an open heart look that will enable you to link each of the individual pieces together.

Create all of the hearts out of whatever hue you want, or they can be individually cut out of very different colors. When you are finished cutting out the pieces they are then connected and placed so that they have a pleasing appearance. This design is a sweet and lovable Valentine project regardless of how they are layered.

Romantic Love

02/08/10 - Romantic Love - This project is simply titled Romantic Love. A romantic design that can represent any interpersonal attraction. Place it on any outfit when you are feeling lovingly, whether it is romantic or platonic feeling. Love is a word that could signify a variety of attitudes and emotions, which makes this design one that could be utilized all year.

Each one of the alphabetic character is cut individually out of glass, then be sure to overlap the pieces so they'll be fused together. Be creative with your patterns. To make this one a little different, I've placed a heart in the piece, where the “o” would have been. Twist the letters around a little to really add some interest to the artwork.

This particular color of glass was interesting to use, because each side has a different hue of the same color. So, while it looks as though I have cut the letters and heart out of different colors of glass, they are actually cut from the exact same piece. Become creative and imaginative with your project.

Kissing Lips Design

02/07/10 - Kissing Lips Design - This is a design for some sweet kissing lips that are all puckered and ready for a kiss or two. They really create a very lovable and significant pattern for Valentine's Day holiday. Virtually human mouths are soft, delicate and able to move, but these will stay permanently in this loving position for what ever fusing project you want to use them for.

First determine what color you want prior to beginning the process. The lips are very simple and easy to cut with a glass saw. Because they are luscious lips, they may be designed and cut in any desired lipstick tinge.

Glassline paints are used to attain the middle of the lips. You can attempt to cut the small and toothy design if desired, but painting them in is much easier.

Laced Heart Pattern

02/05/10 - Laced Heart Pattern - Working on more new patterns and designs for Valentine's Day. This laced up costumed heart appears a little taut and prissy. It is an entertaining method for observing Valentine's Day. Gift these to your friends and acquaintances. This design is a great way to say “Will you be my Valentine”.

The lacing prompts images of an old corset with its zig-zag form. The lines could be made by employing Glassline paints or stringers. I've used some dark black to contribute a contrasting strip of color, but as with each of the patterns and designs on the site, the color can always be altered to your wanted color.

Dots are then applied to indicate the numerous brackets that the strings are laced through. Make certain before you begin to have plenty of dots on hand.

Frit of Love Design

02/04/10 - Frit of Love Design - I have decided to call this design, Frit of Love. Merely stated this pattern is a blank or empty piece of glass that is then adorned with glass powder, written on and then colorful petite chunks of glass finally scattered all over the piece.

I have placed my powder and frit on a rectangle, but it can be actually be placed on any figure, like an oval, Valentine heart, circle, etc. And of course you could write any wanted phrase in the powder.

This is actually very easy to accomplish, but take a minute to scan through the instructions to answer any inquiries you could have on this procedure. Be sure the rubber eraser is new and fresh before moving it through the glass powder.

Two Hearts Pattern

02/02/10 - Two Hearts Pattern - Two hearts that are very different in form, sizing and figure, but are joined together for this distinguishing design. The very top heart seems to be penetrating through the lowest solid heart.

When cut, place the small solid heart just under the prong on the larger heart. This is so that the pieces can fuse together inside the kiln. If not touching, then they will still be individual pieces after the firing process.

There are a few ways you can create this pattern and make it a very unique piece, besides the usual ways of changing a piece, like different colors of glass, etc. Why not try drilling a couple of holes in the edge and adding some Cubic Zirconia stones.

02/02/10 - Butterfly Heart Wings - This very dainty butterfly heart design is all prepared to spread its heart wings for a fluttery Saint Valentine's Day. The different wings of this butterfly are completely made up with different sized hearts. Several colors can be used not only to add depth to the piece, but to also add some interest and design. Adorn each piece if desired. Use some dots, frit, glass scraps or stringers for decorating purposes.

Angel Heart Pattern

02/01/10 - Angel Heart - This new pattern is of an angel holding a heart. On her outspread white wings, this petite little angel is holding a colorful heart way above the top of her head. Red hearts and angelic beings just seem to go hand-in-hand with Valentine's Day.

This newly offered design consists of four individual pieces and the assembly is really easy. The pattern could be adjusted to accommodate your special sie and shape. Cut the pieces out of any colors desired and adorn according to your specifications. Use any other pieces for the adornments, such as Glassline paints, stringers or frit.
